Located at 5165 Cedar Point Line in the hamlet of Cedarview, just one kilometer west of Lakeshore Road, this hidden jewel has been a Huron lakeside recreational destination since Jack Sheppard started operations just after WWII. The current owners acquired the business in the spring of 2005 and have revamped the food and beverage menus to include fresh cut fries and trendy finger foods. Many of the local fishermen are drawn to the Marina for its’ services which includes daily and seasonal dock rentals, fuel, boat launch ramp, ice and live bait. A lot of folks like to come down to the Marina after work to enjoy an open air supper while taking in the spectacularly colourful sunsets that this area is famous for. Patrons can also enjoy wine, beer or cocktails with their meal. The restaurant (Kenny's Boathouse Restaurant) is especially known for its’ breakfast specials and on weekend mornings the tables will be crowded until noon. Many fishermen take in a late breakfast on the weekends after an early morning on the Lake angling for the bass and salmon that the Lake is well known for. Action starts early at the Marina opening at 7am, 7 days a week during the high season. Adjacent to the harbour are sandy beaches with shallow wading areas which make the area ideal for sunbathers and young children. The Marina restaurant provides take-out foods for the bathers to take back to their beach blankets spread over the soft sand. During the sweltering hot summer evenings in Forest, Cedar Cove Marina patrons find an escape on the large outdoor tree covered deck overlooking the Lake with a cool drink and a burger, and where the gentle breeze off the water always ensures a pleasing experience. |
